Solveson Contracting Inc. is a is a full-service, family-owned and operated contracting firm performing industrial, commercial, and residential excavation, site work, construction, trucking, and plumbing.

1977 - John E. ‘Salty’ Solveson Jr.(Mansfield U) with his wife Mary (Bryant Stratton) founded Solveson Contracting as a small plumbing company, sold wood and coal stoves and provided chimney cleaning services.

Residential and commercial service calls made up 100% of the business, conducted by word-of-mouth and hand shakes. With ‘Salty’s experience of over 15 years of working in the construction field and Mary's experience in the clerical field with various companies, Solveson Contracting was up and running. 1979 Solveson Contracting purchased their first backhoe, truck, and trailer to perform septic system and utility line installations and repairs.

1980 - Solveson Contracting began contracting state and government projects. As well as continual expansion of residential and commercial work

1985 - Solveson Contracting purchased their first crawler dozer for site work, restoration, and clean-up.

1990's - John’s sons, Reuben Saul & Leif, grew up in the company business and worked along side their father throughout high school and college. During the 90’s and early 2000’s, Solveson Contracting steadily expanded its construction equipment fleet to take on larger scale projects. In 1996 Reuben joined the company full time after high school and worked while taking college courses.

2005 - The Solveson Contracting company was officially incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania.

2009 - Saul, joined the company full time after a 6 year pitching career in professional baseball, working part-time in the off-season. He brings a degree in Business Sciences/Management from St. Bonaventure University.

Today - Solveson Contracting Inc. maintains a full fleet of equipment, operates a rock/aggregate pit, and continues to provide a professional general contracting business. With the Solveson’s underlining never-ending work-hard attitude, Solveson Contracting Inc. continues to grow and meet or surpass customers needs and expectations!
